  Robert L. 'Bob' Seward, 63, of Florence died Wednesday, Jan. 9, 1991,from a heart attack which struck while he was responding to anemergency ambulance call.
  Retired as former owner of Seward Hardware in Florence, he was anactive worker in the community and for years was director of theFlorence Ambulance Service.
  Services were held Saturday afternoon at Florence Christian Churchwith Florence Funeral Home in charge of arrangements. Pastors FredApplegarth and Charles Haines officiated with burial in HillcrestCemetery near Florence.
  Born Jan. 29, 1927, at Leon, he was the son of Ivan and Elizabeth(Sutter) Seward.
  Survivors include his wife, Lois Jean, of the home; daughters, BarbaraD. Rhaesa of Parkville, Mo., Catherine S. Teller of Leawood, andCarolyn S. Moody of Ulysses; his mother, Elizabeth Seward of Augusta;brothers, Darrell of Augusta and Ernie of Bella Vista, Ark,; onesister, Janice Broadhurst of Cresskill, N. J.; 13 grandchildren; andfour great-grandchildren.
  He was a member of the Florence Christian Church and Joppa MasonicLodge at Leon. He also was a past president of Florence Chamber ofCommerce and was the former director of the Florence AmbulanceService.
  Memorials have been established in his name with the FlorenceAmbulance Service and with the Bob Seward Fund at Florence StateBank."

Pastor FredApplegarth from the Florence Christian Church and Pastor CharlesHaines from the Florence United Methodist Church officiated. Organistwas Linda Linnens. Bennie Holtsclaw sang "Amazing Grace," and BarbaraRhaesa (Bob's daughter) sang "How Great Thou Art." Casket Bearerswere: Dale Miller, Brian Clay, Darlene Leeds, Jeanie Meirowsky, PattyWilliams, Bruce Fetrow, Jim Baldwin, and Calvin Becker. HonoraryCasket Bearers were: Bret O'Dell, Jerry Siebert, Martin Voelker, DelLeeds, Gail Moore, Harold Huntley, Ern Hett, Craig Shanklin, JackRegnier, Jack Webb, Paul Loewen, Roger Johnson, Mark Miller, MaxTharp, Bob Hanes, John Padgett, Roger Williams, Robert Gayle, andFrancis Meirowsky.
