  The following is found in the newspaper, "Mt. Vernon Register News,"dated Friday, October 15, 1971, on p. 2. (on microfilm at Mt. Vernonpublic library, Mt. Vernon, IL)
  "Vern Boggs, 79, of Kell died at 8:00 p.m. Wednesday at the MarionVeterans Hospital.
  Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday at the OsbornFuneral Home in Kell. The Rev. Ross Partridge will officiate. Burialwill be in the County Line cemetery.
  The body will lie in state at the Osborn Funeral Home where friendsmay call after 6 p.m. today.
  Mr. Boggs was born in Kansas, the son of John and Margaret (Elkins)Boggs, on Sept. 29, 1892.
  He was a veteran of World War I and had a milk route for severalyears.
  Mr. Boggs is survived by his wife Margaret Angeline and one sister,Mrs. Josie Hasketh of Kell."
