a. Note:   Dix at the age of 83 years, nine months, and six days.
  Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday at the OsbornFuneral Home in Dix with the Rev. Jonathan Urshan officiating. Burialwill be in Zion Grove cemetery near Dix.
  The body will lie in state at the family home where friends may callafter 2:00 p.m. Tuesday. At 11:00 a.m. Wednesday the body will lie instate at the Osborn Funeral Home where friends may call at any time.
  Mrs. Quarterman was born Feb. 18, 1880, at Kell, the daughter of Johnand Mahulda Jane (Elkins) Boggs.
  On Dec. 5, 1897 at Chase, Kan., she was married to George W.Quarterman, who preceded her in death on May 28, 1958. She was alsopreceded by two infant daughters and a daughter, Almeda, who died in1956.
  She is survived by two sons, R. E. Quarterman of Kell, and WilliamBenjamin Quarterman of Dix; seven daughters, Mrs. Lucy Craig of Kell,Mrs. Alice Moore of Salem, Mrs. Myra Harris, Mrs. Lola Belle Mullinax,Mrs. Kathryn Bell, Mabel and Grace Quarterman, all of Dix; twobrothers, R. A. Boggs of Flint, Mich., and V. E. Boggs of Kell; asister, Mrs. Josephine Haskett of Kell; 16 grandchildren; and sevengreat-grandchildren."
