  Alfred was born in Abbeville Co., SC, "on the eve of his father'simmigration to Georgia." Alfred is found in the 1850 GA Census, CassCounty with Nancy and three children. Then he's in Lemon's Districtof Cobb County in 1870 with Nancy and six children. In 1880, Alfred,Nancy, sons Newton W. and Samuel C. are in Coxes District of CobbCounty. Alfred is in the same district living with son Newton in1900, which would have been right before his death 26 June 1900.
  Alfred owned land in the vicinity of Mount Harmony Baptist Church onthe northside of Bankhead Highway (U.S. 78) halfway between theChattahoochee River and Mableton Post Office. (p. 242)
