a. Note:   "Mrs. Joe S. Edwards Dies This Morning Mrs. Joe S. Edwards, Route 1, Leon, a resident of the Leon Communityfor the past 40 years, died here this morning following an illness ofapproximately three weeks. She was 53 years old.
  Mrs. Edwards came to Butler County from Iowa with her parents in 1895and settled on Hickory Creek, southeast of Leon, residing there untilher marriage at El Dorado on February 20, 1900. She was born atShenandoah, Iowa, on July 18, 1882.
  Mrs. Edwards was well known in the Leon Community and her death is asource of a grief for scores of friends and relatives. She was amember of the Baptist Church at Leon.
  Surviving are: her husband; two sons, Charles E., Route 1, Leon, andWillard J. Edwards, of Leon; three daughters, Mrs. Lois J. Westervelt,Route 3, Leon, Miss Violet E. Edwards, of Wichita, and Miss Ada J.Edwards, at home; four sisters, Mrs. Olin Dedrick, of Seiling, Okla.,Mrs. Alice Sutter, of Leon, Mrs. Delia Prescott, of Spring Valley,Calif., and Mrs. Florence Harris, of Cheney; three brothers, J. E.McCafferee, of El Dorado, O. H. McCafferee, of Neosho, Mo., and A. L.McCafferee, of Rex, Ore.; her mother, Mrs. Nancy J. McCafferee, ofLeon, and four grandchildren. Three children died in infancy.
  Funeral arrangements will be announced through the Byrd Funeral Home."

b. Note:   yesterday morning will be held 2:00 Sunday afternoon at Leon Methodistchurch.
