a. Note:   Chatherine (Weimer) Sutter. George's parents were Daniel and Eve(Sheets) Sutter. More research needs to be done on this.
  Information regarding the births, marriages, and deaths of Earnest'sparents and their children were found in a family bible that belongedto Charles and Lizzie Wells Sutter. The bible is now in thepossession of Sam Seward, Wichita, KS, who is a great grandson ofEarnest Sutter.
  The following is found in the book, "The Kingdom of Butler - HerPeople," pp. 197-198, published by the Butler County HistoricalSociety in 1980.
  "The Sutter Family
  Charles Sutter was born of German parentage Feb. 21, 1856. Some yearslater he moved to Brian County, Iowa, where he met Lizzie A. Day, hisfuture wife. They were married at Cannon, North Dakota Territory, Feb15, 1876.
  In 1877 Mr. and Mrs. Sutter and their six-month-old son, Ernest, cameto Kansas in a covered wagon and settled in the Hickory Creek valleyin Logan Township. This homestead was purchased the following yearfrom Henry Sutter and consisted of the west quarter of Section B --approximately 120 acres. Four other children were born to Mr. andMrs. Charles Sutter; Theodore, Owen, Rose and Allan. The latter isdeceased.
  At the death of Charles Sutter, Ernie Sutter purchased the originalland grant and featured cattle breeding and grain crops. As the yearsrolled by the farm was increased to 1,520 acres and was known asSutter's Ranch.
  Ernie Sutter and Alice McCaffree, a school teacher and artist, weremarried April 15, 1903, and five daughters graced this union:Elizabeth, Bess, Ina, Marian and Ernestine.
  The family was always active in church, school and community affairs.
  To date, 55 descendants spanning five generations have enjoyed theranch which was sold March 10, 1978, one hundred years after it waspurchased."

  "Charles Sutter Dies Yesterday
  Charles Sutter, 73-year-old Butler County pioneer, died yesterdayafternoon at the home of Mrs. Ivan Seward, his granddaughter, nearLeon. His illness previous to his death lasted but 18 hours. He wasborn in Iowa, and had lived in El Dorado eight years.
  He is survived by four sons, E. R. of Leon; T. A. of El Dorado; A. M.,of Larned; and O. E. of Wichita; one daughter, Mrs. R. E. Short, whosehome is in Texas; and one brother, Forest, of Santa Rosa, Calif.
  Byrd Brothers Funeral Home is in charge."

d. Note:   County, KS. They have been married 24 years and have 5 children, allof which are living at home. Charles is 44, born Feb 1854 inIllinois, and is a farmer who owns his farm free of mortgage. Bothhis parents were born in Pennsylvania. Lizzie is 35 and born Dec 1860in Iowa. Both her parents were born in Indiana. They list thefollowing children:
