b. Note:   "Mrs. Seward Dies; Victim of Tornado Wichita, Kan., May 31.--Mrs. Rebecca Seward, another victim of lastweek's storm, died at the Axtell hospital, Newton, at 7 o'clockyesterday evening.
  She was the mother of Mrs. Markes who was killed instantly in thetornado. The funeral of Mrs. Seward and Mrs. Markes, will take placeat 2:30 Thursday afternoon at the Christian church at Leon. Theburial will be in Quito cemetery.
  On account of the hopeless nature of Mrs. Seward's injuries, theburial of Mrs. Markes was delayed so that a double funeral might beheld. Mrs. Seward was 76 years of age." (Source: El Dorado, KS,"Walnut Valley Times," Thursday, May 31, 1917, p. 2, Volume XXXL,Number 11474.)

Ida has been married 8 years to Edward Strickland,who is 31, born May 1869 in IL, and lists his occupation as a laborerin a lumber yard. Paul W. is their three-year old son born Aug 1896in Kansas.
