  Samuel Watson Seward was born in Adams County, Illinois, Aug 16 1851,and died in Yuma County, Colorado Jan 6 1939 at the age of 88 y 4 m 9 d.He was the son of Clark Watson and Phebe Jane Denny Seward of FountainCounty, Indiana. Services were Monday afternoon with interment in Grandview.
  He married Annie McGinnis of East Liberty, Fayette Co, PA on Jan 221874. They came to Colorado with their five small children in a prairieschooner in 1888 to homestead south of Wray. Annie and Sam established a homein what is known as Squaw Canyon.
  He is survived by his wife; Annie of Laird, three daughters, Mrs GipShafer, Mrs Fred Sample of Wray, Mrs AF Anderson of Greeley, one son, MW ofLaird, three sisters, Mrs Elizabeth Fowler of Bridiger, Montana, Mrs IdaStuckland of Leon, Kansas and Mrs Amy Bush of Leon, and two brothers, Freeman ofLeon and Peter Watson of Washington DC."

If the datesof his birth and death are correct, he was 87 years, 4 months and 21days old when he died according to my date calculator that isinstalled with this genealogy program.)

Both of Annie's parents were born in Pennsylvania.Samuel and Annie list the following children.
