Note: Township in Republic County, Kansas. F. M. is 24, born in Indiana, and a farm hand. Both of his parents were born in Ohio. His wife,Loura V., is 17, born in Ohio, and keeping house. Her father was bornin New York and her mother was born in Ohio. F. M. and Loura have 1child: M. A., who is 10 months old and born in Iowa. It looks likethe month he was born is July, but this census was enumerated on June11 and 12. It also has a stamped date at the top of the page thatreads "Received August 28.80." Blanch Blannett is also living withthem. She is 11, born in Indiana, and listed as F. M.'ssister-in-law. I believe that this is Loura's sister. Her father andmother have the same birth places as Loura's parents. There is a E. Y. W. Blannet living in the same enumerated district onp. 28 in Big Bend Township in Republic County, Kansas. Mr. Blannet is58, born in New York, and a shoemaker. His wife Maria is 50 or 58,born in Ohio, and keeping house. This would match the birthplaces forthe sisters' parents listed above. The Blannets list the followingchildren; all born in Indiana. Cora B., 16 Blanche, 11 Ela, 8 Mynta?, 7 Note that they also list Blanche. Could Blanche have been staying atthe Seward's home when the census taker came to their house so shewas included there? Could it have been a different date when he wentto the Blannet's house so she was also included there?
Note: In the 1880 census, F. M. and Loura V. are living in White Rock
