a. Note:   The initial "J" was found in the 1910 Census. March 1995: From Boskey Stanley, I learned that Martha's maiden namewas Thompson. Martha married George Ray and after he died, Marthamarried Nathan Lee in 1874. Martha had three children from her firstmarriage, Will, Fannie, and James. All three children are mentionedin the guardianship papers.
  ACTION: Find out when Martha married George, when he died, and wherehe was buried.
b. Note:   In the 1900 Census, Martha's birthdate is listed as Dec 1842.
c. Note:   Martha is the head of the household at the age of 27. She is keepinghouse with a real estate value of $150 and personal property valuedat $100. She was born in Georgia and can't read or write. There are3 children living with her: William, 7; Martha F. E., 5; and James J.C., 3.
