Note: 1941. "Mrs. D. I. Melton Dies at Age of 69 Mrs. D. I. Melton, 69, long-time resident of West End, died yesterdayat the residence, 1002 Lawton street, S. W. Mrs. Melton is survived by her husband; one daughter, Mrs. Fred West;three sons, G. I., C. D. and G. H. Melton; four sisters, Mrs. MittieAllan, Mrs. Homer Wade, Mrs. Tommy Melton and Mrs. Nan Gordon, andthree brothers, H. O., T. J. and C. N. Lee. Funeral services will be held at 2:30 o'clock tomorrow afternoon atthe Oakland City Baptist church, the Rev. E. E. Steele officiating,and burial will be in Greenwood cemetery." O. Lee,Mr. and Mrs. T. J. Lee, Mr. and Mrs. C. N. Lee, all of Austell; thegrandchildren and great-grandchildren are invited to attend thefuneral of Mrs. D. I. Melton Sunday, Jan. 12, 1941, at 2:30 o'clock atOakland City Baptist church with remains placed in state at 1:30o'clock, Rev. E. E. Steele officiating. Interment, Greenwoodcemetery.
