a. Continued:   According to a family file found 4 March 1995 in the Georgia Archives,Issac was Elizabeth Coker Cape's father. This file was submitted byKatherine B. Rambo, 754 Marlin Ave., #2, Foster City, CA 94404. It isnot known when this file was submitted. ACTION: Katherine needs tobe contacted and more research needs to be done.
  This Coker file contains Issac's wife, children, and brothers. Itcontains a lot of info on Claiborne Coker and his family. Claiborneis a son of Issac.
  Katherine Rambo states that "Issac might be related to Johan GeorgeKocher, a Salzberger who immigrated to Georgia in 1741. Issac hadthree brothers: Abraham, Jacob, and Malachi.   LAND: On 12 June 1792, Isaac bought 160 acres from William and SarahBrown for the sum of 50 pounds sterling. This land was located on the"waters of Beaverdam Creek" on the south side of Brown Mill Creek inElbert County. [Source: copy of record]
  LAND: On 7 March 1793, Isaac and his wife Nancy sold 160 acres toWilliam Cook for 50 pounds of "starling." This is the tract of landthat Isaac bought from William Brown in 1792. Isaac and Nancy placedtheir marks on the document that Francis Cook witnessed. [Source:copy of record]
  COURT: On 6 Oct 1794, Isaac was appointed appraiser for MaybournCrenshaw's estate along with Thos. Cook, William Aycock, and BurtonGreen.   1805: An Isaac Coker is found in the Franklin County, GA, Tax Digestas an agent for John Coker. This could be our Isaac as FranklinCounty is just to the north of Elbert County. It is not known at thisdate (4 June 1997) how this John is related to Isaac. [Source: copyof record]

  Three persons are engaged in agriculture. Listed on the same page areMalacia and Jacob, which shows their ages as 45 and up. Alsey islisted on page 170; his age 26-45. Abrahm Coker is on page 188, age45 up. How is Alsey related?
  LAND: On 3 November 1820, the state of Georgia gave 225 acres inElbert County to Isaac. The land description is as follows: "buttingand bounding NE by Walker's land, NWwardly by Browns' land; SWest byCahy's? land; SEwardly by Cook's? land." [Source: copy of record]
  According to the book, "Index to the Headright and Bounty Grants ofGeorgia, 1756-1909," any "person who received a grant was the firstowner of that particular tract of land. After it was granted to himby the state, he could sell it, give it away or leave it to his heirsin a will." This book also states that "a bounty grant shows only thewords ON BOUNTY written under the grant. It is NOT proof of militaryservice, since ordinary citizens also received bounties for notleaving the state during the Revolution."
  LAND: On 1 January 1822, Isaac sold 225 acres in Elbert County toEdward Cox of the district of Pendleton of the state of South Carolinafor the sum of $250. This land was located "on the waters of ShoalCreek including the plantation whereon said Coker now lives" boundedby B. Kelley and Brown and was the same land that the state hadgranted Isaac.   COURT: A true account and inventory of the estate of Isaac Coker tobe made by Elisha Coker and Willis Coker in Henry County. ElishaCoker, William Coker, Lewis Cape, and William Bishop "are held andfirmly bound by the sum of $800," 6 May 1833. William Bishop is thebrother of Elisha Coker's wife, Tina Bishop.   FAMILY: "The three younger sons of Issac -- Henry, John, and WilliamCoker left Henry County shortly after the death of their father,moving to Upson County, Georgia in 1834 and then to Plains of Dura,Sumter County, Georgia in 1843. The arrival of the three Cokerbrothers has been noted in local historical narratives, and theypurchased adjoining farms just north of Plains that remained in thefamily until the early 1900's. In fact, the original home built byJohn Coker still stands and has been restored by the current owners,who also own all of the land that once comprised all three farms.
