b. Note:   The 1900 census shows James' birthdate as Sept 1868.
c. Note:   James is 31, born September 1868 in Illinois, single, and a farmlaborer. A granddaughter is also living with Joel and Martha. Flosseyis 10, born October 1889 in Kansas, and is at school. Her father'sbirthplace is listed as Illinois, but her mother's birthplace has an Xin the column. Evidently, the family didn't know where Flossey'smother was born. I'm not sure if Flossey is James' daughter, becausehe lists his marital status as single, not divorced or a widow. Moreresearch needs to be done on this.
Note:   James W. is living with his parents, Martha and Joel Parker in 1900.
