  "CALLED HENCE.
  Died, on Sunday, May 9, 1886, at 7:30 o'clock, a.m, at the home of hissons, James V. and D. F. in town five, range forty, in the southernpart of this county, James Boggs at the advanced age of eighty years.
  Mr. Boggs lately came to this county from Illinois, and is, webelieve, the first grown person that has died from natural causes inthe county. The relatives and friends of the deceased will have thesympathy and condolence of the people of this entire community intheir affliction."

d. Note:   his dead brother David's wife Sarah who has married Peter Baxter.Living on the other side of Peter and Sarah are James' sister and herhusband, Patsy and John Carpenter.
  James is 45, born in NC, and a farmer with a real estate value of $130or $150. (The number is hard to read.) Matilda is 34 and also bornin NC. They list the following children, all born in NC:

Note:   In 1850, James and Matilda are living in Lincoln County, NC, next to
e. Note:   County, IL. James is 73, a farmer, and born in NC as was his mother.His father was born in PA. It is noted that James can't read orwrite. Clarra is 57, keeping house, and born in NC as were herparents. James and Clarra list the following children. (Ages andbirth places are also listed below.)

  Eliza Telford, another daughter, is also living with James and Clarra.Eliza is 30, divorced, and born in NC. (Could Eliza be Mary E. or isthis another daughter? In the Illinois Marriage Record Index, thereis an Elizabeth Boggs that married James M. Telford 10 July 1873 inMarion County.) Eliza's son, Otis, is also living with them. Otis is5 and born in IL. His father was born in TN.

Note:   In 1880, James and Clarra are living in Haines Township in Marion
f. Note:   County, IL. James is 70 and born in NC. Sarah is 50 and also born inNC. They list the following children:
  John, 21, NC Aaron, 18, NC James, 16, NC Franklin, 14, NC Martha, 12, TN George, 8, IL
  It should be noted that in this census, George Williams and his familyare living just seven houses from James Boggs. George lists adaughter named Girtha, who is 10. At this date, 27 Apr 1998, Ibelieve this is Aaron Boggs' future wife, Gertrude Williams.

Note:   In 1870, James and Sarah are living in Raccoon Precinct in Marion
g. Note:   Office Dixon Springs) in Smith County, TN. James is 52, born in NC,and a farmer with a personal property value of $265. ($265 would beworth $4619.38 in 1997.) Evidently, James did not own any land asthere is a mark in the column for value of real estate. I believe hedidn't own any land as they were headed to Illinois where his cousinswere living. Matilda C. is 38 and also born in NC. They list thefollowing chldren; all born in NC except Martha J., the youngest, whowas born in TN.
