Note: The Boggs family notes has his middle name as Lonzon. The following is taken from the book "Sedan, Union County, New Mexico"by Regina Joyce Christerson Smith. "Fred Lawrence Boggs was the son of Aaron and Gertrude (Williams)Boggs. He was born 21 April, 1877, at Centralia, Marion County,Illinois. Fred moved to the Territory of New Mexico from Oklahoma,where both of his parents are buried, in 1908, but did not file onland until 24 May, 1910. Mr. Boggs was a farmer, grew fruit and madebrooms. His broom plant began operation in 1917 and operated until1951. Failing health forced him to close. Fred L. Boggs married Addie Erwin at Cleveland, Oklahoma. Theyarrived in Union County in April, 1910, in a covered wagon. They hadbrought a cast iron stove, a corn husk mattress, dresser and twohorses with them. Their first home was a 14 by 20 foot half-dugout.They had one son, Ernest Lee. Addie Boggs could not adjust to thehardships of pioneer life and returned to Oklahoma. Fred L. Boggs married Lizzie (Kile) Parker, widow of George Parker, atClayton, N. M. on 30 November, 1918. Lizzie Kile was born 31 July,1888 at Redland, Oklahoma. Her parents were George and Hanner(Vanderpool) Kile. George Kile also filed on land in the Stead areain 1912. George was born at Ironton, Ohio on 14 February, 1862. Hemoved from Ohio to Oklahoma in 1886 and married Hanner Vanderpool in1887, living in Oklahoma where Hanner died in 1894. She is buried onHood Mountain near Aikens, Oklahoma. George and Hanner Kile had threechildren, Lizze, George Kile, Jr. and Albert, who died in 1894. GeorgeKile lived with his daughter, Lizzie Boggs, in later years and was 80years old when he died 13 January, 1943. He was a member of theLutheran Church. Lizzie's brother, George Kile, Jr. died 5 November,1966 at Venita, Oklahoma. He was born at Redland, Oklahoma and hadtwo sons, Eddie and George, Jr. Fred and Lizzie Boggs were blessed with five children, Harry, Jack,Gertrude, Margaret and Nettie Frances. The Parker children are Beluah(Mrs. Gene Lucas), Opal (Mrs. Charles H. Monroe, Jr.) and JamesParker, who married La Vita. Mr. Boggs passed away after a short illness at St. Joseph's Hospitalat Clayton on 9 September, 1959. He is buried at Clayton Cemetery. Harry, oldest son of Lizzie and Fred Boggs' children, married CyrenaCarman, and both teach school. Jack married Beatrice Gove, daughterof Ira David and Elsie (Crone) Gove. Jack did work for the Globe Newsin Amarillo but in 1971 moved to Clayton and became assistant managerfor Clayton Cattle Feeders. Jack had polio when he was 2 1/2 yearsold. He wears a brace which doesn't seem to hamper the things hewants to accomplish. Jack and Beatrice built several rooms to theirAmarillo home, doing the work themselves. The Mack Adams now own thehouse in Amarillo, while Jack and Beatrice own the Mack Adams farm atSedan. They have three children, Keith, Barbara and David. Gertrude married Tommie Shields, Margaret married Calvin Boyett andNettie Frances married Wayne Wheelock."

Lizzie must have been married before asFred lists two stepchildren living with them. James P. is 7 and bornin OK. Opal is 5 and also born in OK. Their father was also born inOK. Fred and Lizzie list one son of their own. Harry is 3 months oldand born in New Mexico. Also living with them is Fred's father, AaronBoggs, and Lizzie's father, George Kile. Aaron is 70, a widow, andborn in NC as was his parents. George is 57, a widow, and born in OH.Both his parents were born in Germany. Neither Aaron or George listan occupation.
