Note: Oklahoma, Georgia lived at 901 E. Delaware in McAlester at the time ofher death. She died after a brief illness at the age of 82 years, onemonth and seventeen days on November 2, 1966 at St. Mary's Hospitalwhere she was a patient of Dr. Milton Shuller. Her funeral services were held Friday, November 4, 1966 at the FirstChristian Church at 3:30 p.m. and was buried in Tannehill Cemetery.Dr. Charles E. Myers was the minister. Music played at the funeralincluded "Blessed Assurance," "Jordan's Stormy Banks," and "How GreatThou Art." The active pallbearers were Georgia's grandsons: M. C.MacMurrough, Fowler Brown, David Travis, Jim Kirkland, Glenn Kirkland,and Cecil Brown, Jr. Other pallbearers (honorary) were Joe B.Allford, Paul Collier, J. M. Miller, Jr., Orville Shipley, MattPatterson, Roy Curtiss (?), Charley Sanders, Bill Young, RudolphMyers, Bill Allford, Ray Weddle, Elmer Collier, Charlie Clifton, BenHackett, Ethan Durant, and Rob Edwards. She was a member of the FirstBaptist Church of McAlester. She was survived by daughters: Mrs. Connie M. Willaert of Baytown,TX, Mrs. Jay (Montie) Kirkland of McAlester, OK, and Mrs. Ruth Travisof Antoich, California. She was survived by sons: E. Ethridge Brownof Corona Del Mar, California, H. O. Brown of McAlester, Cecil W.Brown of Walnut Creek, California, Lonnie W. Brown of McAlester, andEllis M. Brown of McAlester. She had twenty-seven grandchildren,thirty-two great grandchildren, and 1 great great grandchild. She waspreceded in death by her husband M. R. Brown on January 24, 1946. Shecame to Indian Territory (Oklahoma) from Alabama in 1903 and settledin McCurtain County. They came to Pittsburg County, Oklahoma in1908."
