Note: Ollie spent the winter of 1894 with her maternal grandparents,Catharine Battenberg-Hushaw and John Samuel Hushaw at their home inIllinois. In the summer of 1895 she traveled from Illinois to herUncle William Throckmorton to finally reach her McCaffree home inrural Leon, Ks. Soon she met Charles Nelson Dedrick and they marriedon January 23, 1896. Uncle Charlie was a farmer from Oklahoma but heand his brother, John Dedrick, were interested in photography. Note: "Ollive Dedrick Rites Held Funeral services for Mrs. Ollive Dedrick, 90, who died at the SeilingNursing Home following a long illness October 25, were held October 28at the Seiling Methodist Church. Rev. Ken Tobler officiated with interment in Brumfield cemetery underarrangements of Redinger funeral home. Mrs. Dedrick was born on March 17, 1876 at Freemont County, Iowa, thedaughter of Mr. and Mrs. James McAffree. She moved to this area in1898 settling at Taloga. She was married to Charles Nelson Dedrick in1896 at Eldorado, Kan. There were 10 children. She was a member ofthe Methodist Church, and the Home Demonstration Club as long as herhealth permitted. Survivors are 3 daughters Mrs. Ruth Livingston, Paonia, Colo; MissVerda Dedric, Seiling, Mrs. Blanche Archer, Chester; 3 sons Walton andMarvin of Seiling, and Harold of Stillwater; 17 grandchildren, 51great-grandchildren and 7 great-great-grandchildren; 2 sisters, Mrs.Florence Harris of Chaney, Kan; and Mrs. Alice Sutter of Leon,Kansas."
