c. Note:   County, Ohio. Samuel is 62 and a farmer with a real estate value of$6500. Elizabeth is 50. They list the following children living withthem:

  A daughter of Samuel and Elizabeth is living next door. Armenda is 18and married to Samuel Dunham, 21, a blacksmith. It is noted thatArmenda and Samuel were married within the year. There is a RachelSeward living with Armenda and Samuel, who is 18 and also marriedwithin the year. Maybe this Rachel is James's wife, as he also liststhat he was married within the year. In the 1860 and 1870 censuses,James's wife's name is Rachel. I don't know why James and Rachel arelisted in different households.
  Listed right before Samuel and Elizabeth on this census is a Byrum (orByrand) Seward, who I believe is Samuel's brother. Byrum is 61 andborn in New Jersey. His wife is Elizabeth, age 40, and born in Ohio.They list the following children:
  Clinton, 16, farmer Minor, 11 Alfred Shotwell*, 5 Phebe, 2
  *The way it is written in the census, it looks like Shotwell isAlfred's last name. Phebe's last name is Seward.
Note:   In 1850, Samuel and Elizabeth are living in Union Township of Butler
d. Note:   Buren Township of Fountain County, Indiana. Samuel is 69 and farmingwith a real estate value of $7800 and a personal estate value of $670.Elizabeth is 60. One son is living with them; Perry M. is 24 and isalso farming. His real estate and personal estate value are listed as$100 each.
  Living next door is another son, James M. Seward. James is 30 andfarming with a real estate value of $1000 and a personal estate valueof $500. James is married to Rachel, age 27. They list the followingchildren:
