He was in the U.S. Air Force during World War II, and later moved to California, where he worked as a supervisor in the aerospace industry for 33 years, including on the Apollo and space shuttle projects. Ted is survived by his wife, of 50 years, Maribel "Billie"; his daughter, Jeanne Freeland and son-in-law, James of Arizona; his grandson, John Patrick West and his wife, Rachel; and great-grandsons, Julian and Ethan West, all of Las Vegas. He is also survived by his sisters, Polly Lallman of Nebraska, Anne Bruner and brother-in-law, Byron of California, Alice Dick and brother-in-law, Dick, Dorothy Albus and brother-in-law, Dale, all of Nebraska; by sisters-in-law, Janet Thompson of Las Vegas, and Jeanette Blatter of Colorado; and by numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by brothers, John and Bill Blatter; and sister, Pat Barta. He had been a resident of Las Vegas for 16 years at the time of his passing. May he rest in peace and remain in our hearts forever, a kind and constant man. No services are scheduled. The family wishes to thank Nathan Adelson Hospice for the wonderful and compassionate care given to our beloved Ted during his final illness. Memorial donation in his name may be made to them at 3391 N. Buffalo, Las Vegas, NV 89129.
