Note: uel Medical Center in Omaha. She was born June 14, 1928, in Blair to J. William Blatter and Anna May Monke. She grew up in Blair along with her seven brothers and sisters, and graduated from Blair High School in 1946. She worked for the Soil Conservation Service in Blair. She married Roy Barta on Nov. 8, 1950, in Storm Lake, Iowa. They lived in Blair until 1953 and then moved to Dakota City and lived there for 10 years. In 1963, they moved to Elkhorn and resided in the same house for 40 years. She attended Bethany Lutheran Church and volunteered her time there and participated in Bible study and prayer. She also was involved in community organizations such as Grange, Women's Club, Eagles Club and was a supporter of her husband's involvement in the Elkhorn community. Survivors include: a son, Jim (and wife, Jane) of Eugene, Ore.; two daughters, Terri (Mrs. Calvin) Bull and Kathy (Mrs. Paul) Martin, all of Elkhorn; a brother, Ted (and wife, Billie) Blatter of Las Vegas; four sisters, Polly Lallman of Fontanelle, Annie (Mrs. Byron) Bruner of Long Beach, Calif., Alie (Mrs. John) Dick of Fremont and Dorothy (Mrs. Dale) Albus of Blair; a sister-in-law, Jeanette Blatter of Denver; and 11 grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband and two brothers. The funeral will be 11 a.m. Thursday at Bethany Lutheran Church in Elkhorn with the Rev. Mark Fry officiating. Visitation will be from noon to 8 p.m. today at Reichmuth Funeral Home in Elkhorn with the family receiving friends from 6-8 p.m. Burial will be in Blair Cemetery.
