a. Note:   h was a muscian in Bohemia, he played the Baratone. He ended up in Dodge, NE where he formed a band. The players had no music, they hand wrote all there music from memory. Through odd jobs as a farm hand Joseph earned enough money to buy a farm. Later he joined his brother Frank as an undertaker, they had an undertaker and furniture store. Joseph had no religion. He became close friends with a priest and had all his children baptised catholic. Helen Srb was the only one who remained Catholic, others were atheist.
