They put on masks to disguisethemselves, and went to the door and demanded entrance, whichwas refused by the father (Brice H. Adair). They then broke inthe door, with weapons in their hands. Brice, seeing that hisson might be in danger, tried to stop them, but he was shot byChism. In the excitement the son (Robert L. Adair) grabbed a gunfrom the corner of the room and shot Chism. (Who died thefollowing Saturday). 5 of the 8 young men established an alibi,which was never broken, so they were released.
