Adair lost his lifeon the seventh day of JuneWhile standing by his wifetrying to save his sonMr. Adair lived a christian lifethis his neighbors all knewWhile his son he was trying to rescue.He received the fatal blowTwelve white caps at midnightPrice Chisolm one of the crewand with a double barrel shotgunThis awful deed did do.Here's what happened:The Son (Robert Luther Adair) was about 19 yrs. old, was poplarwith the girls, this created jealousy, and a group of 8 youngmen decided to ruff him up. They put on masks to disguisethemselves, and went to the door and demanded entrance, whichwas refused by the father (Brice H. Adair). They then broke inthe door, with weapons in their hands. Brice, seeing that hisson might be in danger, tried to stop them, but he was shot byChism. In the excitement the son (Robert L. Adair) grabbed a gunfrom the corner of the room and shot Chism. (Who died thefollowing Saturday). 5 of the 8 young men established an alibi,which was never broken, so they were released.
