a. Note:   The biography of Thaddeus W. Fancher states the folowing: "The maternal grandparents, Abram and Sally (Knapp) Van Scoy, were natives of the State of New York, he having been a scion of one of the fine old Holland Dutch families early founded in the Empire State and his wife having been of English lineage."
  The name of Abram probably should be Abraham and the name Sally Knapp probably should be Mary "Polly" Knapp. Abraham and Mary "Polly" Knapp had a daughter named Sally Ann Van Scoy.
