Note: !More than one source has suggested that he was adopted by Andrew Ring Hatfield. His name does not appear in the "Hatfield Book". I was informed several years ago that he was brought up in Brookville (on the same hill where the Andrew Ring Hatfield house was located). His father and mother are unknown at this date (20 March 1994) He has listed on the marriage index as his parents Andrew & Nancy.
