Source: Herald Online Published November 11, 1983 Crossroads: The death of Mrs. Silas Henwood of Crossroads, occurred at home Thursday, November 10, 1983, following a lengthy illness. Mrs. Henwood was 90 at the time of her death. Born in Glasgow Mountain, Cumberland County, she was the former Annie Alice Dowe, a daughter of the late Amasy & Sophie Dowe. Left to mourn her loss are two daughters: Vera, Crossroads; Mabel, Mrs. Wyman Ayers, Halfway River; two sons David & Ernest, both of Crossroads; a sister Lydia, Mrs. Preston Jodrey, Stellerton, 14 grandchildren & 23 great grandchildren. She was predeceased by her husband, Silas, three sons: Albert, Hedley & Herbert. Smith's Funeral Home, Springhill with burial in the United Baptist Church Cemetery.
