Notes
a. Note:   Had a brother that went to Australia in 1830's Benjamin was the oldest son. Barr is not his middle name-he did not have one. I have used the Barr to distinguish him from the 6 other Benjamin Tippetts in this tree. Heads of Households-Cities, Towns, Villages, and Settlements of NB 1865-1866 has Benjamin Tippett, sparmaker at the foot of Middle St, Carleton along with Benjamin Jr as a shipbuilder, John Tippett shipbuilder , John Goldsworthy shipbuilder and Tippett&Goldsworthy Shipbuilders, all same address. He arrived in Saint John in 1832 and was accepted as a skilled shipwright in 1835-K McCullogh The company built two ships-the Althea and the Marguerite. The Althea sank in 1842. I have what is reputed to be a model of the hull of the Althea mounted on a board on my dining room wall.
his obit says left 4 children.
