Notes
a. Note:   name found as:
 Edmund
 Edmond
 Edmon
It would seem most likely to be"Edmond", if only judged by the frequency of the appearance of a partocular spellling. This goes along with various other records; census sheets, family handwritten journal notes.
However, a photograph of his gravestone clearly shows his name "Edmon Roach".
Also, in papers passed on through his daughter Sarah Gertrude Roach Eagan (AKA Gertie), a paper is found detailing items, headed "Margrett estate", for his mother in law Margrett Gannon Corbett. This note also adds confirmation of the spelling of her name as "Margrett" (not "Margaret"), with the additional fact of that spelling also being on her gravestone.
Also, A few handwriten pages exist that appear from the content to have been written by the man himself, and there, it is spelled "Edmon".
He is also found in census data as "Edward". This kind of apparent name dicscrepancy seems to be common in census records, most likely explained by simple errors involved in brief oral communications.
