Sarah Edith Belongea Funeral ------------------------------ Funeral services for Mrs. Sarah Edith Belongea, 80, of Tilden, formerly of Sioux City, IA and Meadow Grove, will be held 2 PM Tuesday in the United Methodist Church at Meadow Grove with the Rev. Don Williams officiating. Mrs. Charles Dunivan will be organist and Mrs. Dale Horrocks, soloist.
Burial will be in Hillcrest Memorial Park at Norfolk with Kennie, Clayton and Doug Ober, Clarence Schinck, Wendell Lewis and Duane Anders serving as pallbearers.
The body will lie in state from 3 to 9 PM today (Monday) in Marshall-Harlan Funeral Home at Tilden and one hour prior to services Tuesday in the church at Meadow Grove.
She was born August 13, 1894 at Pierce to Mr. and Mrs. William Ober and died September 7, in Manor Hall Nursing Home at Tilden where she had resided since May.
She was educated in Pierce County schools. On February 7 1912 she married Earl Ballentine at Bloomfield. He died March 21, 1958.
After Mr. Ballentine's death she moved to Sioux City, IA. On January 24, 1960 she married George Belongea at Sioux City, IA. He died January 18, 1969.
Survivors include daughter, Miss Ruth Ballentine of Beatrice; one stepson, Clifford Belongea of Sioux City, IA; one step-daughter, Mrs. Mel (Thelma) Walters of Sioux City, IA; One sister-in-law, Mrs. Malinda Ober of Norfolk.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husbands, six brothers and two sisters.
