a. Note:   On 6 June 1900 Emil was living as a boarder with the Jacob Ream family at 522 W. High St., Springfield, Clark County,
 Ohio. The family members included Jacob, his wife Catherine,
 son George, daughter-in-law Emma,grandson Howard, and grand
 daughter Millie. All of the Reams were born in Ohio. jacob was
 a retired farmer and his son George was a day laborer. The home
 was owned free of mortgage. Emil was a machinist hand. He
 indicated that he and his parents were born in Ohio.
  Emil and Ada must have married after June 1900 and before 1903
 when Mildred was born.
  On 6 January 1920 Emil , wife Ada, daughters Mildred and
 Jeanette, and son Edward were living a 752 Field Avenue,
 Detroit, Wayne County, Michigan. Emil was the owner of a
 toolshop. Emil's father was born in Germany [mother tongue
 German] and his mother in New York. Ada's father was born in
 Ohio and mother in Pennsylvania.
