Notes
a. Note:   There was a very large turn out of friends and family at the funeral. Many of the Tireman Athletic Club showed up. There
quite a number of my friends that also came to view him.
b. Note:   Edward and Emily were married by Clergyman Peter F. Stair in his home behind Strathmore Methodist Church located at the
intersection of Strathmore and Hubble Ave. in Detroit. The
wedding took place at 11:00 am on a rainy day. Their witnesses
were Mary Margaret Baldwin and Ada Stair-both of Detroit,
Michigan. Emily said there were no family or friends at the
ceremony. After the wedding they went back to his sister
 Mildred's house for brunch.
Strathmore Methodist moved and was located on Schoolcraft just
East of Southfield sometime before 1954. It later merged with
St. James Methodist and was renamed St. Christophers. If was
 later sold.
