a. Note:   Sources: Paul A. Eakin Notes: Immigrated in 1839. School teacher, farmer,also had a general store. Settled at Rosepoint, PA., then to Venango Co. in 1871 - farm called "Spring Hill Farm". In 1873 he and sons built a large two-story brick house with bricks they had made. Also had a store in Clinton- ville, and at same time taught school at Bradey's Bend, PA. Death certificate said he died of heart failure at age 72 instead of 74.
