  Not much is known about Joseph, he lived in a part of the co. where many rec's. have been destroyed. according to the 1880 census, a son & dau. of his have recd. that he was born in Ga. According to the 1830 Ky. census he was born between 1780/1790. at that time his parents were living in the area northwest of Augusta, Ga, possibly Columbia or Washington Co. His parents must have moved to N.C. or Eastern Tn. in about 1790 or a little after. His father bought land near Knoxville Tn. in 1799. He apparently had a brother named Thomas and at least two younger sisters. Him and Elizabeth moved to Ky soon after their marriage. Listed on 1810 census of Hend. Ky. All their children were born in Ky. accept for possibly Nancy, who might have been born in Tn. After Joseph & Eliz. dealth all of their children moved to Bond Co, ILL. The two youngest, Thomas and James were apparently cared for by relatives.
