S. discovers from Oklahoma 2004 Shields Reunion video interview the proper pronunciation of "Ville" as "Villee" like "Billy" BIOGRAPHY: (As told to T. S. by Alton Shields, October 2003) - George left home in late teens to early twenties and moved to Illinois where he worked for a logging company. Ollie soon followed. [Possibly by 1911 - T. S.'s summation from info]. George later moved to Oklahoma where he purchased a farm and raised pigs and cattle. He would butcher the pigs and put them in a smokehouse. After one such morning, he stepped on a nail which became embedded in his foot. The next morning he awoke with a case of lockjaw and soon died. DEATH: (Info obtained from January 5, 1928 Hughes County Tribune obituary) "...death being due to tetranus caused from an infected finger. The infection was caused by a splinter." [Note: Cause of death misspelled, actually "tetanus"] DEATH: (Death Certificate) Cause of death tetanus. BURIAL: Headstone Inscription (Holdenville Cemetery, Holdenville, Hughes County, Oklahoma) G.
