Note: Irene M. Strzyzewski, age 77, of Harbor View Apartments in Manistee, went to be with the Lord on Saturday, Feb. 17, 2001 at her apartment. She was born May 15, 1923 in Manistee, and was the daughter of the late Martin and Mary (Zawacki) Strzyzewski. She had moved to Milwaukee, Wis., as a young lady and was employed at the AC Sparkplug Company for 30 years. She returned to Manistee after her retirement. She was a communicant of St. Joseph Catholic Church of Manistee.
Irene is survived by: her brother and sister-in-law, Harry and Clara Strzyzewski of Maniste; and by numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
She was preceded in death by: two sisters, Lucille Strzyzewski and Florence Ludwigson; and by her brother, Leonard Strzyzewski.
Mass from The Order of Christian Funerals will be celebrated at 1:30 PM on Wednesday, Feb. 21 at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Manistee, with the Rev. William Zwiefka, celebrant. Burial will follow at Mt. Carmel Cemetery, also in Manistee.
Evening Prayer from the Order of Christian funerals will be prayed Tuesday evening at 8 PM at the Herbert Funeral Home in Manistee, where friends may begin calling Tuesday afternoon after 2 PM. The family will be at the funeral home Tuesday 2 to 4 PM and 7 to 9 PM to receive friends.
A memorial will be established in Irene's name for the St. Joseph Church re-decoration fund. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
