Notes
a. Note:   Eli Moore family 1820 Rowan Co Census as follows
2 males 10 and under Nathaniel born 1811 (presumed) William born 1813 1 male 10-16 ? some researchers have him as David Moore 1 male 16-18 Nathan Moore born 1804 1 male 26-45 Eli Moore-father 1 female 10 and under Jincy born abt 1819 1 female 10-16 Susanna born 1806 1 female 26-45 Jane Moore mother Eli and Janes children born after 1820 census Joseph Moore abt 1824 John Moore abt 1826 Didama Moore abt 1830
1830 Davidson County North Carolina Census has the following MOORES ; NATHANIEL MOORE age 20-30, Nathan Moore age 20-30 and Eli Moore (indexed as Ely Mare) father of Nathan ,William,Joseph ,John and most likely Nathaniel's father also. For them all to live in the same district in 1830 census seems that these individuals were most definitely related . Living a few houses away is Solomon Charles which could be relation to Mary Charles-Nathaniel Moore's first wife.
Nathaniel Moore first appears on the Davidson Co tax roll in 1832 which was the year he turned 21 years of age. He remained on the tax rolls until 1840 . In 1835 he is listed as paying taxes on 60 acres of land. This was only one year he paid taxes on property until 1851 when he arrives back in Davidson Co and pays tax on 57 acres of land which was the same land sold in 1851 to Alfred Hayworth.
1832- December 29th- Nathaniel Moore and Eli Moore appear with Samuel Piggott,John B Cecil(?) ,Elisha Jones as trustees on a deed for 2 acres of land bought for fifty cents from Solomon Vestal for a School House/Meeting House .
Nathan, William and Joseph Moore was still living in Davidson Co in 1850 but not Nathaniel or John . Nathaniel and John were in Appanoose Co Iowa in 1850. Eli Moore died in 1847 .
In 1850 Nathaniel Moore was living in Appanoose Co Iowa and living next door was John Moore. John was the son of Eli Moore of Davidson Co N C.
1851 Nathaniel Moore returns to Davidson county to sell land to Alfred Hayworth . This land is described as belonging to John Moore and wife Mary and Nathaniel Moore all from Appanoose Co Iowa. Nathaniel signed the deed as Nathaniel Moore Attorney at Lad (?). Evidently meaning power of attorney since John and Mary didn't sign but was in Iowa. In 1852 Nathaniel returns to Appanoose Co Iowa and I believe he brings with him his daughter Nancy E Moore who had remained in North Carolina with relatives (possibly grandparents) and also Joseph Moore (brother) and Joseph's two daughters Nancy and Sarah.
Eli Moore's will in 1847 mentions a granddaughter Nancy Moore which he leaves $5.00 for the good will he has toward her. She is the only grandchild mentioned in his will. I believe this to be Nancy E Moore -daughter of Nathaniel Moore who had stayed behind in North Carolina when Nathaniel moved to Iowa. Thus Eli had a fondness for Nancy since she probably had taken care of him and his wife Jane before they died. There was one other granddaughter that Eli Moore had named Nancy Moore which was Joseph's daughter but was just a baby if she was even born at the time Eli wrote his will. Not likely this infant mentioned as the only grandchild in Eli's will . Also in Eli's will he "gives and bequeaths to his son William Moore, one hundred acres of land on the south end of my tract where the said William Moore now lives to be ran of in a square. It being two shares-one half of which was purchased by the said William Moore from Nathaniel Moore". This is pointed out to have been Eli's tract of land so Nathaniel must have inherited it and sold it to William Moore thus proof of Nathaniel being Eli's son .
1840 Nathaniel Moore is not found in census index. Nathaniel met and married Elender/Elenor in Appanoose Co as Elender/Elenor's family had also moved to Appanoose Co abt 1847-1848.
1850 Appanoose Co Iowa Census indexed as Nathaniel MOON 1860 Appanoose Co Iowa Census 1870 Daviess Co Missouri Census
