Note: Oct 5 1795. JOHN THORN of Prince William Co Va,to my son AUGUSTINE THORN,100 acres on the West side of Lick Branch ,a branch of Occoquan, part of a tract of land taken up by my deseased father,WM. THORN, (Deed Book Y , p. 602)
Feb 19 1796. HENRIETTA SANFORD "for the love of children and grandchildren" made a Deed of Gift of Negroes: to MARY THORNE of Prince William Co "and to my granddaughter MARY THORNE:" to grandson AUGUSTINE THORNE; (and goes on to name other Sanford family members) Why AUGUSTINES brothers WILLIAM and JOHN THORN were not mentioned in the will seems strange. Since the Gift was Negroes, maybe she didn't have enogh slaves for the other grandchildren and MARY and AUGUSTINE didn't have any slaves themselves. ( Note: I am opposed to slavery and any predjudices and only mentioned this as it was written)

Dec 18 1809. There was a land transaction of SAMUEL MORRIS and wife ELIZABETH in Pittsylvania Co Va where a AUGUSTINE THORN was a witness. Maybe Augustine lived there briefly on his way to Tennessee.
