Notes
a. Note:   1840 Davidson Co North Carolina Census Eli Moore Family 1 Male 10-15 John Moore b 1826 1 Male 15-20 Joseph Moore 1824 1 Male 50-60 Eli Moore 1779 1 Female 5-10 Nancy Moore 1835 -Granddaughter (presumed) 1-Female 10-15 Didama Moore b abt 1829 1 Female 20-30 Jincy b abt 1819 1 Female 50-60 Jane -wife b abt 1783. The female age 5-10 I believe to be Nancy E Moore my great grandmother who was living with her grandparents . In Eli Moore's will in 1847 he mentions a granddaughter Nancy Moore which he left $5. to her for his kindness toward her. No other grandchild was mentioned in his will.
1850 Can not find Nancy in Census as Nancy E Moore in Iowa or North Carolina. She appears in Iowa in 1853 when she marries Isaac Watts Thorn in Nathaniel Moore's home in Appanoose Co Iowa. I believe she traveled from Davidson Co North Carolina to Iowa with Nathaniel Moore her father and her uncle Joseph Moore and his two daughters Nancy and Sarah Moore. Nathaniel had been in Iowa since 1848 at the time he married Elender Elam-Blaylock . His brother John Moore also had traveled with him to Iowa in 1848 and married Elender's sister Mary Elam. In 1851 Nathaniel then returned to Davidson Co N C to sell 57 acres of land owned by John and Mary Moore and Nathaniel Moore to Alfred Hayworth. Then in 1852 Nathaniel loaded up the family and other relatives and headed northwest to Iowa . A familiar trail that he had traveled at least once before.
