  Alive and living alone in 1891 census. Chesterfield Primitive Methodist Lily NEE DHAM, dau. of Herbert & Elizabeth NEEDHAM, Cutthorpe, Basket Maker. bapt. 17/09/1874, born 29/07/1874. Formerly in Business at Chesterfield Death of Mrs L Furniss at Wingerworth On Friday, at Mount Pleasant, Hardwick Wood, Mrs Lily Furniss, wife of Mr Herbert Furniss, died after a short illness at the age of 61 years. She had been out only a week previously.
  Mr and Mrs Furniss have only recently retired from Park Street, Birdholme, Chesterfield, where they have been in business for many years. Mrs Furniss was a daughter of the late Mr Herbert Needham of Cutthorpe, Chesterfield and had a number of interests in Chesterfield. She was a member of the Chesterfield Borough Welfare, the British Legion, Women's Unionist Association, and Birdholme Women's Club. She leaves a husband, two sons, five daughters and sixteen grandchildren.
  The funeral took place on Tuesday at Wingerworth. The service was conducted by the Rev.J P Nodder, Ashover, in the unavoidable absence of the Rector. All the family and many friends attended the service, including representatives of the different committees with which Mrs Furniss had been associated. The Birdholme Women's Club members were lead by Mrs Handcock.
