  Indenture for Walter's apprentice. Transcript of Indenture Certificate of Charles George Dakin
  This Indenture Witnesseth That Charles George Dakin son of Thomas Dakin of Spital in the County of Derby doth put himself apprentice to Walter Kirk of Chesterfield, Pork Butcher to learn his Art and with him after the Manner of an Apprenticeship to serve from the date hereof until the twenty seventh day of Januaryone Thousand Eight hundred and Ninety four and thereforth unto the full End and Form of three years from thence next following to be fully complete and Ended during which Term the said Apprentice his Master sha faithfully serve his secrets keep his lawful commands and every where shall gladly do he shall do no damage to his said Master nor see to be done of others but to his Power shall tell or forthwith give warning to his said Master of the same he shall not waste the goods of his said Master nor lend them unlawfully to any he shall not contract Matrimony within the said term shall not play at Cards or Dice Tables or any unlawful Games whereby his said Master may have loss with his own goods or others during the said Term without Licence of his said Master shall neither buy nor sell he shall not haunt Taverns or Playhouses not absent himself from his said Masters service unlawfully But in all things as a faithful Apprentice he shall behave himself towards his said Master and all his family during the same Term And the said Dakin for himself herebye covenants with the said Walter Kirk that the said Apprentice shall well and faithfully serve his said Master during his said term and the said Thomas Dakin and the said Apprentice herebye covenants with the said Walter Kirk his said Apprentice in the Art of or trade of a Po Butcher ------------------- which he useth by the best means that he can shall teach and Instruct or cause to be taught and instructed and will pay unto the said Thomas Dakin the wages following Viz:- from the date hereof until the twenty seventh day of January One thousand Eight hundred and Ninety five the sum of two shillings and sixpence per week the next year five shillings per week the next year seven shillings and sixpence per week the said wages shall cease to be payable during such time as the said Apprentice shall be absent thoroughly discharged or [offensive] And for the true performance of all and every the said Covenants and Agreements either of the said Parties bindeth him self unto the other by these Presents In Witness wherof the Parties above named to these Indentures Interchangeably have put their Hands and Seals the twenty seventh day of January and in the fifty eighth year of the Reign of our Sovereign Lady Victoria by the Grace of God of the Kingdom of Great Britain and Ireland Queen Defender of the Faith and in the Year of our Lord One Thousand Eight Hundred and Ninety Four
  Witnesses Charles George Dakin Thomas Brayshaw Thomas Dakin Walter Kirk The Amount of the Money or the value of any other matter of things given or agreed to be Given with the Apprentice by way of Premium must be truly inserted in words at length Otherwise the Indenture will be void and double each amount or value forfeited.
