Henry, I think that's the one--but will check-- was blown off his motorcycle (did they have them then?) while delivering a message to one of the soldiers or commanders at the front; this was in France during WWI. All of his clothes were blown off and he was discovered, put into a hospital and remained unawares, and unidentified, until ten days later. He was blinded by the explosion and remained so for the rest of his life. He was reported to be the most intelligent member of his family, but handicaps in those days were probably more limiting than they are today.
