Note: 1880 census Stafford Ks shows wife as Fannie Age 22. Not sure if this isAnne Ozment or not. Also mother Nancy Wilbur is living with them there.
The only mention of this family I found in our printed history at the museum was on pp. 46 & 47 of "A History of Stafford County" by Frank A Steele, first printed in 1968, reprinted, 1982.
From the chapter "Christmas on the Prairie": "Mrs. Tedford was astonished at their speedy return and at the abundance of the meat ... She told them to ask three or four of the neighbor boys in. They went out and saw Rube and John Wilbur, Matt Carr, John Tedford and Deb Green, who were all batching, and invited each to Christmas dinner. ... After that, Rube got out his fiddle and he and Sam Tedford 'furnished the folks with some fine music ...'"
