Note: Vernon R. Sloniker, 67, a life time resident of Reeds, Mo., died at 5:30 a.m. Jan. 15, 2007, at St. John?s Regional Medical Center.
He was born July 26, 1939, and was the son of the late C.C. ?Bud? and Dolly B. ?Williams? Sloniker in Reeds.
Mr. Sloniker was a farmer and was employed at Schreiber Foods Inc. for 42 years. He was also a member of Avilla United Methodist Church.
Aug. 22, 1959, Vernon and Linda Long were united in marriage in Carthage, Mo. She survives.
He is also survived by one son, Vernon Eugene Sloniker, of Reeds; two daughters, Jeanie Smith and Madonia Branstetter, both of Reeds; four grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; one brother, Ted Sloniker; and two sisters, Claudiene Meade and Virginia ?June? Keller, both of Carthage. He was preceded in death by his parents; and one brother, Melvin Sloniker.
Graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, Jan. 22, at Avilla Cemetery, Avilla, with visitation from 3 to 4 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 21, at Ulmer Funeral Home, Carthage.
