a. Note:   Melvin Forrest Poulson, 89 Carthage, passed away Thursday, July 12, 2007 at 10:10 p.m. at the McCune-Brooks Hospital, Carthage, after a lengthy illness.
  He was born Feb. 5, 1918, in Reeds, the son of William Poulson and Rachel (Patton) Poulson his parents preceded him in death. Two sisters, Edna Smith and Nora Poulson, and six brothers, Toots Poulson, Ralph Poulson, Harold Poulson, Raymond Poulson, Thelmer Poulson, and Vasil Poulson also preceded him in death. He worked as a truck driver for many years retiring in 1983. He married Georgia Faye Hill on May 23, 1938, in Carthage, she preceded him in death on March 29, 2003. One son, Phillip Wayne Poulson, Freeport, Texas, two sisters, Neva Williams, Helen Williams both of Carthage, a brother, Lester Poulson, the State of Florida, 8 grandchildren, 20 great- grandchildren, and 11 great-great-grandchildren survive him.
  A visitation will be held Monday, July 16, 2007, from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. at the Knell Mortuary. A funeral services will be held Tuesday, July 17, 2007 at 2 p.m. at the Knell Mortuary Chapel. Interment will be in the Park Cemetery, Carthage. Memorial contributions are suggested to the Salvation Army in care of the Knell Mortuary.
