  Obituary from the Deming N.M. Headlight Newspaper: OLD RESIDENT OF DEMING PASSED AWAY TUESDAY. Martin Luther Thorn,84 passed away Tuesday,April 20 at his home east of Deming. Mr Thorn was born in Weatherford Texas in 1859, had resided in Luna County for the past 26 years. He was a retired rancher. Funeral services will be held Thursday morning at 10:30 from the Baptist church. The Sheriff's posse led the funeral procession to Mt View Cemetery where he was buried. Surviving are eight sons, Walter at Congress, Az., Pat at Gladstone N.M., Jess, Woodrow and Leo all of Deming, Bill N & Mack of Roswell, Robert C, Hereford (Texas ?). Also two daughters Mrs Jack Whatley Tucson, Az. and Mrs Claude Irwin of Deming.
