 Headline: Wife, Girl See Train Kill Man
  The long July 4 holiday starting at 6 p.m. yesterday was marked by the death of a Stanton man whose car was knocked about 100 feet by a freight train engine on Oswell Street east of Bakersfield about 2 a.m. today. The accident was witnessed by his wife and 3 year old daughter in a following car, the California Highway Patrol reported. Julian Grady, 28, was eastbound on Highway 58 and turned left into Oswell Street where he stopped for flashing red lights to allow a westbound train to pass, then started over the 2-track crossing and was hit by the Eastbound Southern Pacific train.
  Mrs. Earlene Grady (no age given) and her young daughter (no name given) were in a car behind and witnessed the tragedy, the patrol said. The name of the engineer was not immediately available.
  Grady was pronounced dead on arrival at Kern General Hospital at 2:30 a.m. The patrol said there were 10 other accidents in the preceding 24 hours, but none involving serious injuries.

 Services for Julian R. Grady, 28, formerly of Bakersfield are scheduled for 11 a.m. tomorrow at Hillcrest Memorial Park Chapel with the Rev. john Lavender, DD, pastor of the First Baptist Church officiating. Mr. Grady, who resided at 10387 Fern St., Stanton died July in a Bakersfield hospital. A 1959 graduate of East Bakersfield High School, he came to Bakersfield in 1953 and first attended Sierra Junior High School. He served in the U. S. Air Force from 1959 until 1967. At the time of his death he was employed by the so. Calif. Edison Co. in Fullerton while attending Cyprus, Jr. College with a geology major. Survivors in addition to his widow, Earlene, are a son, Julian Gerald; a daughter, Kristin Kelly; parents, Mr. and Mrs. Julian E. Grady of Bakersfield; three brothers, Jerry of Lindsey, Michael of Bakersfield, Dick with the U.S. Army in Germany; three sisters, Mrs. Irma Nichols of Sacramento and Mrs. Sue McDonald and Miss Deborah Grady of Bakersfield.
  Interment will be in Hillcrest Memorial Park. Serving as Pallbearers will
 be Don Ritchie, Tom Pierce, George Howard, Al Rardin, Raymond Nichols and Jim
 Chambers.

  Grady, Julian R. - Services will be held at the Hillcrest Mortuary Chapel tomorrow at 11 a.m. for Julian R. Grady, 28, of 10387 Fern St., Stanton, who died July 4 in a Bakersfield hospital. The Rev. John Lavender, DD pastor of the First Baptist Church, will officiate. Mr. Grady was born in Hartman, Arkansas and had resided in California for 23 years. He attended Sierra Junior High School and East Bakersfield High School and was attending Cyprus Junior College in Cyprus. Mr. Grady is survived by his widow Earlene of Stanton, a daughter, Kristen Kelly; a son, Julian G., both of Stanton; his parents Mr. and Mrs. Julian El Grady of Bakersfield, three sisters, Mrs. Irma Nichols of Sacramento, Mrs. Sue McDaniel and Miss Debra Grady both of Bakersfield; and three brothers, Jerry of Lindsey, Michael of Bakersfield and Dick on the U. S. Army in Germany. Pallbearers will be Jim Chambers, Raymond Nichols, Al Rardin, George Howard, Tom Pierce and Don Ritchie. Interment will be in Hillcrest Memorial Park.
