Not sure of who the mother of his children are. Unconfirmed that he was married to an Amanda May. There is an AMY living in the household in the 1850 Pike county MS census. She is listed as 33 years old, born in Georgia. Unconfirmed he was married to Mandy Gibson. In the 1880 Pike county MS census, there is an Amanda May, born in MS, age 40, wife of David Alexander, age 75, born in CT. In this household, there is also an J.A.E. Alexander,age 15. with a notation as being the wife's daughter. I believe files have been mixed up over the years.
