Note: Survey Field Notes Book of John W. Patterson, surveyor It has taken me days to go through this book. There are about 126 pages of surveys and drawn lots. It is written in light pencil so it's difficult to read (plus interpreting the writing).Maybe there is a way to find someone who can read all of these lots and put them all together in a map so we can see where everyone lived. It's fascinating! I did not completely type up the entire book. I tried to glean the descriptive items fromeach. An example: p. 31 Marrion Green's tract July 10, 1882; State Grant No. 634 to Robert Roger for 640 acres dated 29th Sept 1860; on both sides of Fines Creek; NF Emmerson cooks cabin; ]ones Cove tract; to a spring at Henry Browns; Also: GrantNo. 483, 50 acres; Robert Brown; Wesley forks Fines Creek; beginning at a maple at the second fork of said branch above where Wesley Rathbone now lives; the turnpike; to Greenberry Green comer of said tract (west side of the turnpike); LovinggodsEast line; original survey done ]an 29, 1851; Also: Grant 671 50 acres to John Justice and Hiram Rogers on Wesley Fork of Fines Creek; beginning on a hickory on the south east comer of Lovingggod entry; crossing the creek; with Lovinggod tractwith Rathbone entry to a stake in H.
