West side of the Great Cobarie, beginning at a hickory formerly James Westbrooles comer, thence his line S85W 40 polesto a stake in Hamick Rainer's line, thence hisline S64E 141 poles to a dead red oak, Rainers corner in the field thence N22E 24 poles to the former comer of Joseph Sandifer to a white oak stump in the Juniper Branch thence with Sanderford's line N20E 78 poles to the beginning.Witnesses: John Peters. Jr, Zilpha Dinkins. Proved Aug Court 1850. Deed was presented by Edward Godwin who verified the signatures since all parties were now out of the State of North Carolina, Registered; 26 Aug 1850. Source; Sampson Deed Book Vol 30, page 167 Several things make this deed interesting, One, it was not registered for 17 years. Two, Stricklands in my direct line also had property on the Juniper Branch.
