a. Note:   Haywood Co., NC Lowes Posted by: Ed Date: September 15,1999 at 19:15:00 In Reply to: Re: Ha3omood Co., NC Lowes by kelly 1224 of4l6o Go Kelly, Robert Lee Lowe is indeed the sonof Reuben B. Lowe. Reuben Lowe married Harriet Brown and had ten children. 5 of the IO died fairly young. Harriet Brown was the daughter of John Brown and Nancy Lowery Smith. Robert was the oldest of the children. They are as follows: 1. RobertLee 2. William Pinkney 3. Nancy M. 4. John B. 5. Julia A. 6. Martha A. 7. Cassie D. 8. Hester M. 9. Unknown IO.Unknown Reuben fought in the Civil War. He appears in 1850 and 1860 census records as a child. In 1870, he is head of household. He doesnot appear in 1880 census, as his wife is head of the household. Reuben's mother is Mary , and I do not know about his father because he was dead by 1850 cznsus. I just got a very interesting tidbit about the Lowe family. I sent off forthe Social Security Application for one of Robert Lee fowe's children. On it, it notes that Robert Lowe was of Indian Origin. This could have been through Reuben's mother OR father. Do you have or know anyone who has pictures of Robert L. Lowe orSusie Rector lowe? If you would ae, you can email me at Ramsesl993@aot.com.
