a. Note:   please note i am not at all sure about this information especially about the parents of caroline i have two different sets of parents but i think this is the right one "Gerald Teastee' <gteaster@concentric.net> "Earl" <electric@wnclink.com> Tuesday, March 12, 2002 9:43 PM Re: HARMON TEASTER AND CAROLINE TEASTER Hi Earl it is good to hear from you. According to my records there were at least two CarolineTeasters. The first was the daughter of Ransom Teaster and Fannie Hicks. This Caroline was born about 1861. Since Fannie was born about 1825 she was about 36 when Caroline was born. According to what I have, this Caroline married Jefferson Messer. This Caroline had a brother Harmon. This brother Harmon married Susie Hicks. They had a daughter bom about 1871 that they also named Caroline, evidently she was named after her aunt, the fn-,4 Caroline, Harmon!s sister. Susie was about 26 yearswhen the second Caroline was bom. This second Caroline was the sister of my Grandpa Ransom (2) Teaster. 'Me second Caroline married Ad Webb and I have been in touch with her family. Hope this helps, gerald~ > > I have found Caroline and her parents in the 1880 census; also have found- > > She was born about 1871 according to the census. I am trying to find where the children of Jefferson Messer and Caroline Teaster are located in the 1900 census. If I can locate them, itmight help to answer a lot of these unanswered questions. Thank you for the link for the information on Mary Caroline Hicks. I do not believe that she is your Caroline Hicks and I really do not think that she is the daughter of Harmon and Susie. Ithink she might be the daughter of J. F. and Virginia L. Teaster. 1880 Watagua County, Laurel Creek Community, page 382 B TEASTER, J. F., head, w/m, age 30, farming, b. NC father b. NC mother b. NC. cmary E. (could easily be mistaken in some of the early records). #1. I do not know if her middle name is indeed Caroline. It could be somethingelse. I do not know if Mary is indeed the daughter of Harmon and Susie Hix Teaster. There is no daughter by the name of Mary in the 1880 census. There is a Cariine [Caroline], age 9, in their home in 1880. 1 have written to Mr. Manning and havenot received an answer. The 1900 and 191 0 census of Sevier County reveal that the said Mary C. Webb has not been married by one time and has only had one child. Therefore, I cannot see how she can be your anGeStor. 1900 Sevier County, TN, 2ndCivil District, Jun 18, 1900, Dwelling *137, Family # 142 WEBB, Dillard, head, w/m, age 22b, b.
